Winter 2023/2024 Changes and Improvements

1/29/24

Dear Members,

We have had a great January at Ballard Health Club. A healthy number of new members have joined us, providing many new faces at the Club.  When I look out at the main gym floor during the more popular times, it looks busy to me but not crowded.

We are now in the midst of our Winter 23/24 changes and enhancements. Our new Life Fitness 8 station Jungle was installed mid-month, and we have had great feedback from our members enjoying our newest addition.

We have many more changes and enhancements in the works that will take place over the next few months.  The intent of these changes is to enhance our Club for our members’ enjoyment by creating the best spaces for both working out and attending classes.

A new project beginning soon involves Studio X. There are 3 doors in this studio, and we do not need that many. We will close off one of the doors to Studio X allowing us to make use of the space on both sides of the door’s location. The door closest to the locker room will turn into part of the wall, and the door on the other end of the studio will be used to access Studio X when the large roll up door has been closed during the mid-morning Senior Circuit classes. The reason for this work is to make space available on both sides where the door currently is for more work out space and/or equipment.

Another project in the works is to create a web page explaining our planned and completed changes, so members can understand what’s happening at their Club and give feedback. When that web page is ready, the QR Code and link will be displayed on signage in the main gym.

Kyle, our new Fitness Director, has been busy working on creating more class capacity to accommodate our growing need from our members for classes. We are happy to see we have added to our evening cycling classes and increased our cycling class pop-ups. This is along with the expanded capacity for our morning circuit training classes with 3 new classes started in January led by Kyle himself.

As I start my second decade at the Club, I feel as excited as ever to work with the great team of individuals that have chosen BHC as their place to offer their services to the Ballard community.

Thanks for allowing us the chance to serve you and make your life better.

Sincerely,

Pat Gilbrough
