Staff Spotlight: Victoria Hockenbury

What is your role at Ballard Health Club and how long have you worked at BHC?

I’m part of the membership services team at Ballard Health Club and started in early March. From day one, it’s felt like such a great place to be.

What do you love most about working at BHC?

What I love most is the community—it’s not your typical gym. People actually know each other, support each other, and make it a really positive environment to walk into.

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

On a day off, I’m usually trying to get outside and enjoy the sun (something I definitely miss from Arizona!). Ideally, it’s a mix of a good workout, time with friends, and anything near the water—I’m a bit of a water person.

Where are you from, originally?

I originally grew up in Cle Elum, spent the last 10 years in Arizona, and now I’m a new Ballard resident—absolutely loving the Seattle lifestyle so far.

What’s something fun or surprising about you?

Something people might find surprising about me is how much I like to stay busy. Along with working at BHC, I also work full-time in financial advising in Bellevue. When I’m not working, I’m usually staying active—snowboarding in the winter, strength training year-round, or planning my next trip since I love to travel.

Favorite Restaurant in Seattle?

I’m also a big foodie and love exploring new spots around the city. So far, I’d say Homer or Momiji are go-tos—both are always solid.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the job is getting to interact with so many different people and becoming part of their routine. You really get to watch consistency pay off in real time, which is incredibly rewarding.
