David came to yoga while looking for a non-competitive alternative to the team sports he had been playing for exercise. He soon learned that there is much more to yoga than just physical exercise. David’s practice and teaching focus on mindfulness, breath and balance—balance between effort and ease, strength and flexibility, extension and stability, work and play. His classes and insightful cues to students promote grounding and calmness, energized by curiosity and playfulness.
David creates thoughtful, detail-oriented sequences that highlight the importance of transitions as much as individual poses, moving with purpose and awareness of breath. His classes guide attention to all areas of the body. David has an eye for alignment and enjoys helping students find balance and whole body connection.
David received his 200 hour RYT certification from 8 Limbs Yoga Centers and is working on his 500 hour RYT certification at 8 Limbs. When not doing yoga, David likes spending time with his cats, working in the garden, getting out into nature and volunteering for environmental restoration and education.
