Staff Spotlight: Grace Reedy
What is your role at Ballard Health Club and how long have you worked at BHC?
I joined the front desk team last summer.
What do you love most about working at BHC?
I've been able to meet so many great people! Everyone is so friendly and always happy to be there!
Do you have a favorite success story from working with a member?
I've seen many new members come in unsure about being in a gym environment, and it's always rewarding to see them gain more confidence with each visit!
What’s your favorite part of your job?
As the first and last person a member interacts with in the gym, I really get to make a positive impact on their workout and the rest of their day!
What’s one thing most members might not know about your role?
The amount of towels we wash and fold in a single shift! I could probably do it blindfolded at this point.
Where are you from, originally?
Corvallis, Oregon, home of the Beavers! I moved here for college and loved city living too much to ever leave!
What’s something fun or surprising about you?
I teach ballet to dancers ranging from 18 months to 8 years old. Toddlers in tutus are without a doubt the cutest thing ever!
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Full couch potato mode! I have two very cuddly cats so once I sit down on a day off I couldn't get up if I wanted to. I just lock in with my Kindle, Nintendo, and some snacks until they release me long enough to feed them their next meal.
Any hobbies outside of the gym?
I DM an all girls Dungeons and Dragons campaign, and I'm currently working on the second round of edits for the book I wrote!
Favorite workout playlist or hype song?
This might be controversial but I have a Spotify playlist called "Gym Girlie Era" that mostly consists of what I refer to as "The Holy Trinity of Pop Music" (Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan) as well as a few hits from P!nk and KPOP Demon Hunters. Please don't judge me!
Favorite Restaurant in Seattle?
I LOVE Palermos! Their baked spaghtetti is a work of pure genius!
Dogs or cats?
I love both but I've always gravitated more towards cats. My pandemic hobby was fostering newborn kittens!
