Fit for the Holiday

Dear Members,

In the spirit of gratitude, I would like to lead with announcing free classes online on Thanksgiving Day.  Those who want to burn up some calories and build strength before the cooking and feasting begins can join Sunit at 7:30 a.m. for 45 minutes of virtual Tabata HIIT.  Katherine will also offer a virtual yoga class 10:00-11:00 a.m. for those who would like to stretch and strengthen their bodies while cultivating a sense of calm.

If you have been attending our cycling classes, you know how popular they are.  In response to demand, Courtney will offer some pop-up cycling classes in November on two Saturdays, November 12 and 26 10:15-11:00 a.m. There will also be an additional cycling class on Wednesday, November 23 5:00-5:45 p.m., the night before Thanksgiving.

As you have requested, we are offering more classes at the gym.  José will add Friday to his schedule for Step and Tone, so it will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 9:30-10:30 a.m. in Studio Y.  The first Friday class will be on Friday, November 4.

Ivonne will bring her Silver Plus class back to the gym in Studio X starting on Tuesday November 1.  It will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Another new opportunity for members to attend classes at the gym will be available as soon as we can set up a projector in our new and improved Studio Y.  You will be able to come to the gym for some of the classes that are offered virtually.  Some members have told us that they don’t have an appropriate space for taking virtual classes at home. Soon you will be able to enjoy the space and equipment of the gym while you follow instruction from your teacher whose image will be projected for you on the wall.

Other members who prefer to take classes at home have requested that we update the video library.  I will do my best to get new videos posted as soon as I can.  Please understand that technical challenges may cause delays, but it will happen.

Finally, please put some January dates on your calendar for upcoming workshops:

Katherine will offer a 90-minute ‘Gratitude Yoga Workshop’ on Sunday, January 8 starting at 2:00. p.m.  It will include heart opening flow and restorative yoga practice followed by a loving kindness meditation, a perfect way to start the New Year.

Lara will offer a 90-minute workshop on Sunday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m. called ‘Recommit to Your Pull-ups’.  It will provide training rejuvenation for beginners and casual pull-up enthusiasts alike.
