Endings as New Beginnings

December 2, 2021

Here we are, approaching the finishing line of 2021. I like to look at endings as new beginnings. I think all of our accomplishments and trials lead us to new doors opening. When BHC reopened during the pandemic, we had to continually adapt to the new normal and make accommodations to keep members and employees healthy and safe in our facility. Luckily for us we were already equipped with fresh air circulation, and on top of that, Pat went above and beyond reformatting the facility to use all available space so members could feel safe to share the space at a comfortable distance. My work has continued to keep our virtual classes going as our studios were filled with equipment for members and trainers to use. Over the past few months, we have been re-evaluating how to use studio Y by sharing the space, for both small group training and classes. Starting this month, studio Y will be used primarily for classes.

And now December 2021 has arrived, and with it comes many exciting developments at BHC. MJ will have a Sound Bath and gentle yoga practice on December 11th. Taylor, Aurora and Amanda have been leading regular classes for the last few months, and we (mostly Jake and the Overnight Crew) have been working on clearing out studio Y for more class space. One of the doors we hope you will be walking through in the coming months will be studio Y, as we add more and more classes to the schedule. We’ve already added another Silver Sneakers at Leif Erikson Hall on Fridays at 10am because the Wednesday class is so popular! The Cycling studio will also be ready for classes in January, and we’re excited to have our familiar instructors back to take us for a ride.

Virtual classes will not be going anywhere as long as attendance remains healthy. We also have Hybrid classes (both virtual and in-studio at the same time) that many of you have already taken with Aurora or Taylor. We will likely continue with this trend. We’re doing our best to keep you moving, connected and healthy.

I’m sure you’ve been through a myriad of your own changes and transformations this year. I’m excited for you and hope you can see the new doors opening. Our doors to BHC classes, both virtual and in person, are always open to you. I hope to see you in class soon!
