BHC will remain 100% vaccinated - Masks off March 12th !

March 1, 2022

Hi Members,

King County has recently announced 2 major changes to their COVID mandates which were laid out several months ago. The first change is that businesses are no longer required to check proof of vaccination as of March 1st, but have the option of continuing to do so. The second change is that it will no longer be required to wear a mask inside a gym facility as of March 12th.

Ballard Health Club will continue to require proof of vaccination to use the Club going forward and will not stop doing this on March 1st.  Over the past few months, 100% of the people using the club have shown proof of vaccination. I do believe our members want to keep the club at the 100% vaccination level, so we will be continuing to enact that rule. When someone shows us proof of vaccination, we put a star by their name in our system and that appears each time they check-in. This way, people only need to show their proof of vaccination once, not every time they come into the club. Wearing the green vaccination bracelets is no longer required since everyone at the club is vaccinated.

On March 12th, we will gladly accept the King County rule change to drop the requirement to wear masks inside a gym.  Our members can feel safe in the knowledge that everyone around them is vaccinated when they have their masks off as of that date.

We feel confident that our many air systems throughout the Club keep our members as safe as possible, and we will continue to be diligent in providing the safest environment we can for our members.

Karen Gamble (our Class Director) has had the facilities crew (which is really just Jake and I) scrambling to accommodate all of the class additions that she has been organizing lately. During February and going into March, we have added a number of hybrid classes which may be taken either live streaming online or in-studio at the Club, depending on your preference.. Cycling classes have also started again. Seeing our members coming back to classes more and more after a two-year wait is another thing pumping positive energy into our daily routines at the Club.

It's really going to be something seeing members smiling faces coming into the Club again after all this time!

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Sincerely,

Pat Gilbrough
