David Koon

Yoga Instructor

David creates thoughtful sequences for his students and is adept in offering insightful cues to properly and mindfully ease into each pose, maximizing the benefits of yoga. He highlights the importance of transitions between poses as well as the poses themselves. David has an eye for alignment and mechanics and enjoys assisting students to find whole body connection. He guides his students in integrating breath and movement in slow flow and strengthening practices. He also incorporates student requests and offers modifications to best suit their bodies.

Throughout his classes, students experience a focus on awareness, mindfulness, breath and balance. The objective is to find a symmetry between effort and ease, strength and flexibility, as well as extension and stability. His classes are designed to promote grounding and calmness, energized by curiosity and playfulness. His classes are generally fairly athletic while being tailored to meet the students’ needs.

David is a 500 RYT having completed his 200-hour teacher training at 8 Limbs Yoga Centers in 2018 and 300-hour Asana Specialist certification through 8 Limbs in 2023. When not doing yoga, David likes spending time with his cats, working in the garden, getting out into nature and volunteering for environmental restoration and education.
