Wrapping up the Remodel and Thankful for Being Here

December 5, 2022

Dear Members,

We have done several enhancement projects over the years since I became owner in 2014, but none that is so visible as our new training studio as you enter the club. I think our members have enjoyed watching the transformation in the space over the last couple of months. If you have been by lately, you have seen it looking much brighter with lighting being installed in the ceiling. Turns out we uncovered an old hanging ceiling that was there when Phil’s Jewelers was in the space in the 80’s. The location of the training studio was the back area of the jewelry store. This was even before the Ballard Backstage was in the space of where the club is now (hottest live music venue in Seattle at the time!). We simply painted the black ceiling framework white and put in new ceiling tiles

This is our last week of work in the new training studio before we have it totally operational as of Monday, December 12th.   We are also working on wrapping up the floor work in the new Studio Y with the new top layer of the floor planned to be installed soon. Once we get the flooring project done, we can then work on getting all the bars back up in the studio and other finishing touches like mounting speakers, projectors, etc.. With the flooring project done, we have a great deal more space than we have been working on during the remodel.

I want to thank Olivia, of our staff, for dressing up our lobby in holiday lighting. Really gives you the Christmas vibe coming into the club.

As a carryover from our recent Thanksgiving holiday, I am very thankful to be able to be doing another “From the Owner” letter to you. I am really not taking that for granted. It was not that long ago that I doubted we could survive the impact COVID made on a business such as ours.

I do feel we are now on a good track and to the point we are remodeling and enhancing our facility for the future. Thank you for being a member of Ballard Health Club and being a part of making our Club thrive in these tough economic times.

Sincerely,

Pat Gilbrough
