New Personal Training Studio, Parking Continues and Gratitude

September 1, 2022

Dear Members,

It seems we waited until July for summer to show up and then boy, did it ever!  It has made for a fantastic environment for Yoga in the Park at Sunset Hill. This wonderful experience will end when summer ends, so please join us for this free community offering at Sunset Hill Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm.

We have some remodeling starting this month.  We will be working on moving our personal training studio from the 2nd floor to the space that is just inside our main entrance from the breezeway.  For the past 20+ years, Evelyn Lim, has occupied this space with her massage therapy business. Evelyn is now moving her business to her home in Ballard.

In this rather complicated remodel, we will be “moving” our Studio Y over 16 feet toward 22nd Avenue. This will incorporate unused space behind the Blendily retail business open to Market Street. By moving Studio Y over, we will be able to expand the space for the Personal Training Studio to a bit over 1000 square feet. The net result for Studio Y will be to have its whole space topped with a 20 foot ceiling (not just half of it as it is now) and a bit more floor space.

The large apartment development that was to take over the west end of the block the Club is located on has been delayed. What this means is that BHC members with active parking permits will be able to continue to use the Main BHC parking lot for several more months. We are now cleaning up the lot and taking down the signs stating the parking lot is moving. We also will continue to rent the parking in the Commons building as we had started in July.

I want to express my gratitude to our staff at BHC.  I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by a really great group of people that have chosen to work for BHC and dedicate themselves day in and day out to support, enable and/or guide our members to make positive strides in their lives through exercise.

From our front desk people, our personal trainers, our class instructors, our overnight crew and the managers supporting them – thank you for what you do and for allowing me to work with you.
