Taking my turn with COVID and Thank You to the staff of BHC

April 2, 2022

Hi Members,

We just passed the 2-year anniversary of the first closure we had from COVID back in March 2020, and it has been so refreshing to see someone coming back to the club that has been away a very long time almost every day. The returning members are so happy “we are still here,” and we are certainly happy seeing them come back home again.

After all this time of being so careful, a friend and I went out to help celebrate my 67th birthday at a local hotspot and we both tested positive for COVID a few days later. I knew it would likely happen sooner or later, but at my age and with my struggles with asthma from time to time, I’ve always been worried about what might happen. It’s now over 2 weeks of having COVID and I feel about 95% recovered with only a minor fever and cold symptoms to deal with. I’ve had all my shots (including the booster) and I am very thankful to have had the vaccinations in my system to prepare me as they did.

We are continuing to require proof of vaccination for anyone entering the Club. I believe we are the only health club in the area continuing this rule since King County no longer made it a requirement earlier this month. Members have told me how much they appreciate us retaining this rule, especially with the lifting of the mandate requiring masks in gyms.

We are continuing to work on several improvements to the Club. We look forward to getting our new pull bar system in place along with improvements to “Studio Z”. We’re also continuing to add more and more classes as more members are coming back to the Club. As of today, we now have 42 Live Streaming online classes and 30 In-Studio classes each week to choose from! This is in addition to our 10 Small Group Training sessions.

I want to thank the BHC staff for doing such a great job supporting our members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It clearly doesn’t matter much whether I’m there or not as our BHC team have done a great job day in and day out making BHC a welcoming place for our members and making BHC the special place it is.

Be Safe!

Sincerely,

Pat Gilbrough
